Social Media Tools I am LOVING Right Now

Social Media Tools I am LOVING Right Now

I created a list of five editing and social media tools for 2022 back in February on my blog, Hannah’s Happenings. And while that list is still relevant, I wanted to dissect these tools and add more context and insight, as well as discuss a few others that I previously did not mention.

PINTEREST

I will never stop expressing how incredible Pinterest is. Pinterest has become one of my most-used apps in 2021-2022, if not THE most used social media tool this year. Publicly it has grown a list of users who use the app professionally. It went from young moms looking for recipes to the perfect outlet to share your brand and connect with others. As for me, I have been in an art block. However, Pinterest is the one outlet that has given me creative ideas, healthy recipes (which has introduced me to new foods!), and photography concepts over the last six months. I do love Pinterest for its “aesthetically” pleasing images, although its practicality is what draws me back again and again. You can use Pinterest to express your style, share your designs, and find inspiration from others. Its collaborative opportunities create a user-friendly free space for creatives to grow. It encourages the unique user to shine and provides tools to help you grow as an artist, business, and creative.

Website & App: https://www.pinterest.com/

Ideas for you:

  1. Connect with colleagues and friends
  2. Use images for Instagram Reels and TikToks (don’t forget to give image credits!)
  3. Try something new: Make-up looks, recipes, home decor ideas, etc.
  4. Graphic Design Image References: Use images to practice your procreate designs. It gives you something to work with and around that may reflect your style more than a google stock image would.

Fun Fact: I have been on Pinterest for over ten years! It was the first social media platform I joined, and it remains one of my favorites today. Let’s connect @hjp_18

UNFOLD

I have discussed Unfold previously, and I still use it today. It is an app for your phone to create visually pleasing templates for your Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook feeds. I have a pre-saved template I made that I use for every single cover on my Instagram Reels, and all I do is go back and edit the image/text. I have purchased the app subscription, which lasts a year, and I highly recommend it if you use it full-time as I do. Otherwise, their limited free designs allow your creativity to shine and add a clean look to your social media. It embraces a perfect combination of creativity and cohesiveness.

Ideas for you:

  1. Instagram Stories
  2. TikTok/Reels Covers
  3. Facebook Highlights
  4. Main-Feed Posts

ARTBOARD STUDIO

I found Artboard Studio when I was creating my hannahpasquini.com website last fall. I wanted to show some of my digital portfolio work in use, and I found beautiful and sleek mockups free through Artboard Studio. I am still somewhat new to the program (it’s available online for free!) and have limited free access. As I need more mockup designs in the future, I may consider purchasing a subscription. However, for now, it is a good platform for mockup/template beginners such as myself. If you want to show off your graphic design work or new website, give Artboard Studio a try!

Website & App: https://artboard.studio/

Ideas for you:

  1. Professional Tools
  2. Easier to use than Adobe, harder than Canva.
  3. Beautiful Digital Media Mockups

CANVA

Canva: A social media manager’s best friend. A graphic designer’s worst enemy.

Despite the controversy behind using Canva, I have found benefits from it. And I am not ashamed to say I have used the Canva templates to create social media graphics. It is an easy program to use and customize to fit your brand and style. As I have had to use YouTube more in college, I particularly enjoy editing my YouTube videos and creating covers for my content through Canva. The possibilities are endless, and with the use of ‘brand kits’, I have created templates for my art business and others I have worked with too!

Website & App: https://www.canva.com/

Ideas for you:

  1. Social Media Designs
  2. Covers for Instagram Highlights, YouTube Videos, Etsy Shops, etc.
  3. Logo Designs
  4. Customizable ‘Brand Kits’ for Your Business

TOUCHRETOUCH

TouchRetouch is the perfect app for taking things OUT of your images. If you need to remove lint from your sweatshirt or hair from your eyes, TouchRetouch has the tools to provide that will remove unnecessary distractions from your image. It will correct lines and remove objects at your control. I have been using TouchRetouch for two years now, and I cannot comprehend not having a tool such as TouchRetouch to edit my photos.

App (Only): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/touchretouch/id373311252

Ideas for you:

  1. Clean-Up Images
  2. Remove Distractions
  3. Clone-Stamp for Cohesive Edits
  4. Perfect for Portrait Photography
